Students & Local Business Honored During January 2025 Board of Education Meeting

students and Business owner hold certificatesThe Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education recognized four Collinsville High School students and a local business during the January 2025 regular monthly meeting.  

Collinsville High School Drama Students Honored for Accomplishments
Four CHS drama students were honored for receiving a "superior" designation from the International Thespian Excellence Awards (or Thespys for short).  This achievement allows them to compete at the international level in June.  

  • Nathalia Lebron-Suarez for the Little Women set design
  • Ailee Murphy for acting
  • Holiday Johnson for Goosebumps the Musical set design
  • Mya Parker for singing
The Thespys are an Educational Theatre Association program to recognize the highest level of achievement in school theatre performance, technical theatre, playwriting and filmmaking.

Each student received a certificate signed by Board President Gary Peccola and Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich.

Cyclery & Fitness Center Honored for Donating Bikes and Repairs for Students in Need
The Cyclery and Fitness Center was lauded for six years of donating 10-20 bicycles a year to students; as well as sending mechanics to school to fix and repair bikes so students can have fun and ride safely. 

Kreitner Elementary Principal Dr. Kari Daugherty made the presentation. David Parks accepted a certificate of appreciation signed by Board President Gary Peccola and Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich.
