Kahok Families,
Winter Weather
2025 is off and running. Mother nature has exerted her power with nearly twelve inches of snow, followed by single digit temperatures. While we know this is possible during any winter season, it's been some time since we have experienced this type of weather in a two week period.
As we push through January and February - to ensure you receive information regarding inclement weather, emergency school closure and E-Learning Days - please monitor communication from the district and your child's school via our ParentSquare communications platform. Also, check to make sure your email address and phone number are up-to-date in Skyward. To get notifications outside of email or phone calls, download the free ParentSquare app.
Support the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
As we navigate winter, that means it is time for the annual Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics. This year’s event is on February 28 at the VFW. Our district is fortunate to have outstanding students, staff and families taking part in the event, but support for the Special Olympics takes all of us. We are encouraging our community to participate by taking the plunge or by making a contribution. Use this link for information.
This year, we have a friendly rivalry between our district, the Collinsville Fire Department and the Collinsville Police Department. While we are competing against each other, our collective goal is to work together to benefit our students. Please consider donating to a Polar Plunge team member from:
Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 (Team 619653)
Collinsville Fire Department (Team 620034)
Collinsville Police Department (Team 624105)

Importance of Student Attendance
We need your help! In addition to participation in lessons that occur daily in classrooms, student attendance is also important to ensure children have the opportunity to interact with peers and staff. These relationships help them grow academically and socially. Furthermore, regular attendance is a skill all students need to learn to prepare for life after school as it relates to work and adult responsibilities. Unless your child is sick, we want to see them every day!
Don't forget to wear your purple and show your Kahok Pride!
