Principal’s Message

We had an exciting last month together here at DIS. Our T-Bird Basketball program held its annual tournament for the boys. Thank you to our staff members who volunteered their time to give the boys this opportunity to learn and have fun. Our STEM program continued their great work with the Caine’s Arcade Family Night. The students really showed their skill and creativity and families came out in all time high numbers! I also enjoyed seeing many of you at Parent/Teacher Conferences. I continue to be very proud of the effort your students give every day and the dedication shown to your children by the staff here at DIS.

Our month together ended in sadness as we had to say goodbye to one of our own students. We will remember Kirstyn fondly as a student who made DIS a better place.

As we draw closer to winter weather, a reminder that the district can utilize a two hour delayed start. This could be used in the event that the roads would become safe or the temperature would rise within two hours of the scheduled school start time. School Messenger calls and local TV stations will report whether we plan to use a whole weather day or a delayed start. There would be no delayed start on Wednesdays. Thanks again for all of your support. It’s great to be a T-Bird!

Hard to believe it's already November.

Yours in Education,

Kevin Stirnaman

Please - No Parking Next Door at Glazy Square

Many of you used to drop off or pick up students at the Glazy Square donut shop next door. Please help us be a good neighbor and improve student safety by using our circle drive for drop-offs and pick-ups. Their spots should be for customers only.
