Principal’s Message:

Hello DIS families,

Where did thet time go?  It seems that every school year goes a little faster and this one is no exception.  By the end of this week, we’ll be down to 8 days of student attendance!  On behalf of myself and our entire staff, I want to thank you for all the support you’ve given us over our year(s) together.  It has been both an honor and a privilege sharing the educational journey with you and your child.  Before we say goodbye for the year, we have many activites in May for the students.

Our 6th graders will be enjoying the end of their DIS career trip, the 6th Grade Bash, by going to the Edwardsville YMCA.  Our fantastic Chorus program with be competing in their annual competition at Six Flags.  We will be having an Awards Day to honor the accomplishments of our students over the past year.  We’ll also be having our DIS Field Day, where the kids will get a chance to enjoy many games and activites that have been provided by our PTO, our PE department and our STEM program.  Thanks to those of you who volunteered, or provided water, for that day.

We want to stress the importance of following expectations, both behaviorally and academically, for the remaider of the year.  We’d like the year to end on a positive note for everyone.

For our 5th graders, we’ll see you next year.  For our 6th graders, thank you for all you’ve given us over the last two years.  We are very proud of you and you’ll always be a T-Bird.

Yours in Education,

Mr. Stirnaman

Please - No Parking Next Door at Glazy Square

Many of you used to drop off or pick up students at the Glazy Square donut shop next door. Please help us be a good neighbor and improve student safety by using our circle drive for drop-offs and pick-ups. Their spots should be for customers only.
