Hello DIS families,
Busy times are ahead for DIS students!
Throughout the entire month of April, nearly all of our 900 + students will be completing the PARCC exam. The test will be either a six or seven day exam (depending on the grade level). Students will complete one test per day. I am asking that you please ensure that your child is in attendance every day during their testing window. Attendance is always important, but is especially important during this time. Students that miss exam days will have to have make-up exams scheduled at a later time. The make-ups will often have them testing in a different location in the building. They will also be missing out on what is taking place in their classroom at that time. Please contact your teacher to determine your child’s testing window. Your cooperation in this is more than appreciated.
After the PARCC exam is completed, all 5th grade students will be taking a one day Science exam from the Illinois State Board of Education. The test, like PARCC, will be completed online. This is the first year for the exam and we anticipate it taking approximately one hour to complete.
Thank you in advance for all your help in ensuring your student is present and ready for the tests.
Yours in Education,
